Pacific Life Introduces an A-share Variable Annuity
To Be Distributed by Edward Jones

Newport Beach, CA (December 30, 2009)-Pacific Life's Annuities & Mutual Funds Division introduces an A-share variable annuity, Pacific Destinations sm, to be made available by Edward Jones Financial Advisors beginning in January 2010. Pacific Destinations is the first variable annuity from Pacific Life available in the Edward Jones system, further enhancing the distribution relationship that began with the launch of life insurance products in November 2009.

Designed for long-term retirement needs, Pacific Destinations offers clients more opportunity for growth through lower fees over the life of the contract and no surrender charges. Fees include an up-front sales charge, and annual expense and administrative fees. Although a withdrawal may reduce clients' guaranteed income and account values, they will never incur a surrender charge on a withdrawal.

Pacific Destinations gives clients access to The Power of Diversification®, which includes four asset allocation categories. Clients also may choose to add Automatic Income Builder-an optional withdrawal benefit for an additional cost-to a Pacific Destinations contract.

"We are excited to recognize our business relationship with Edward Jones," says Chris van Mierlo, Pacific Life's chief marketing officer, Annuities & Mutual Funds Division. "Our companies have many things in common including a strong commitment to providing quality insurance and retirement products that are built on long-term investment strategies."
