Newport Beach, Calif. – (Oct. 24, 2007) – The Pacific Life Foundation, the charitable giving arm of Pacific Life Insurance Company, today announced an emergency grant of $500,000 to the American Red Cross Southern California Wildfires Fund. These funds are being made available immediately to assist the American Red Cross in their efforts as they provide shelter, food, counseling, and other assistance to those who have been affected by the Southern California wildfires.
“The displacement of families caused by these fires is unprecedented and requires a rapid response by the public and private sectors to assist our employees and neighbors to cope with this tragedy,” said Bob Haskell, President of the Pacific Life Foundation. “The American Red Cross is already on the front lines helping those who have been evacuated and those who have lost their homes as a result of these fires.”
